During my time at Future Friendly, and like most modern software businesses, a large part of the process involves estimation.

There is hundreds of tools that support this. Opinionated Jira setups, blah blah. But they all take themselves too seriously. Delivery Managers and Scrum Masters all often creating tools to adhere to a single doctrine.

My team was blocked by the strict tooling, so set out to create something new and fun.

We prototyped a few versions within the technical limitations of FigJam widgets and plugins, eventually landing on a widget for what we wanted.

Out of necessity I created a Figma UI library, as the public official one hadn't been updated for quite some time. We leveraged this to test a widget that felt like it was part of the tool and not a third party extension.

We launched it in 2023 and roughly a year later it sees about 20k MAU.

The final tool allows you to stamp coloured stickers, tally estimates, and we quickly released a second version that allowed sticker shape changing to account for colourblind a11y needs.
